Aims and Objectives

The Journal was conceived for the purpose of fostering objective research and academic or policy oriented publications. NJPS cuts across a variety of sub-disciplines under Political Science, which includes amongst others; Political Science, Legislative Studies, Governance, Local Government, Political Economy, International Relations, International Organizations, Civil Societies and Non-Governmental Organizations, Gender Studies, Urbanization, Political Institutions, Democratic Studies, Political Transitions, Peace and Conflict Studies, Comparative Politics, Political Theory, Political Ideology and Constitutional Development and Amendments and other related disciplines.

Publication Frequency

NJPS is a double blind peer reviewed journal, with four publications each year. Typically accepted articles will be published in January, May, September and December.

Submitting Papers

The Journal accepts submissions all year round in MS Word Format via; njps@nileuniversity.edu.ng

Intending Authors are obligated to submit original studies that have not been submitted previously for publication or currently under consideration for possible publication elsewhere.

Journal Publishing Agreement and Copyrights:

Upon acceptance of a manuscript, an e-mail will be sent to the corresponding author confirming receipt of the manuscript together with the attached Journal Publishing Agreement. Should a paper be considered for publication, authors are expectedly to sign a declaration form relinquishing right of intellectual property to NJPS.

Retraction/ Correction Policy

Authors are expected to carefully the list and order of author prior to any manuscript submissions and provide to provide a list of authors at the time of the original submission. Any additions, deletion or rearrangement of authorship should be made only before the manuscript has been accepted and only if approved by the journal Editor. To request any such changes, the Editor must receive, from the corresponding author, clear justifications for: (a) the reason for the change in author list, and (b) written confirmation (e-mail, letter) from all authors that they agree with the addition, removal or rearrangement. Only in exceptional circumstances will the Editor consider the addition, deletion or rearrangement of authors after the manuscript has been accepted. While the Editor considers the request, publication of the manuscript will be suspended. If the manuscript has already been published in an online issue, any requests approved by the Editor will result in a corrigendum.
